Mission Statement

The mission of Clatsop Community Action is to help people meet housing, food, and other basic living needs.

History of Clatsop Community Action

Clatsop Community Action (CCA) was founded in 1984.  CCA is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization which seeks to end poverty, hunger, homelessness and their root causes by providing services to the low-income & homeless in Clatsop County.

CCA offers a variety of services including Clatsop Regional Food Bank, energy assistance, respite referral, temporary rental assistance, homeless case management, a mail/ messenger service, and a free store.

In addition to providing these services, CCA identifies and develops programs to meet needs not currently being addressed in Clatsop County.

In 1994, CCA became a Community Development Corporation (CDC). In 1995, a Community Housing Development Organization. Because of this, CCA has the ability to use resources related to housing, employment and business programs. CCA acquired a 22-unit apartment complex called Hilltop Apartments. As a Community Development Organization, CCA will continue to identify and address needs that will enable low income people to achieve self-sufficiency.
